Well. THAT was interesting.
Since a few people have already asked and a few more who stop by here might be curious, we're OK. So far, no bad reports from co-workers who lived a whole lot closer. The editor who works next to me lives IN Windsor, about a quarter-mile from all the pictures you've been seeing. He only got a big hailstone ding in his siding; another art director's son was in the day-care center they've talked about repeatedly -- a few cuts and bruises, but again everyone in there was OK. It could have been FAR worse.
Loveland's about 10 miles west of Windsor-- and being on the edge of the foothills "never gets these" (as opposed to neighboring Weld County which gets a LOT, but usually the quick twister and not the mile-wide honkin' cel things). THAT said...
Marion got a reverse-911 call to take shelter, and called me to let me know. I thought it was just a precaution because of what was happening in Windsor (although I drove home as soon as I could and found the entire family, including both daughters and impending son-in-law, hanging there together). As it turns out, we had a funnel cloud pass right over our building and touch down about two miles north of here. I read about it in the paper this morning, but had no idea while it was actually happening, even though I can see out the window from here. (I DID mention that thing about being totally oblivious to momentous occasions yet again in my last entry, right?
)
Anyway, all is well here. Thanks for yr prayers and concern for everyone involved.
